Today we begin our series on POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE (PMA)
“The only disability in life is a bad attitude.”
“There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative.”
W. Clement Stone
“There are no menial jobs, only menial attitudes.”
William J. Brennan, Jr.
“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.”
Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) was introduced in 1937 by Napoleon Hill in the book ‘Think and Grow Rich’.
W. Clement Stone, later wrote ‘Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude’ which defines positive mental attitude as
“The right mental attitude… comprised of the ‘plus’ characteristics symbolized by such words as faith, integrity, hope, optimism, courage, initiative, generosity, tolerance, tact, kindness and good common sense.”
PMA is a success philosophy: It’s about having an optimistic disposition in every situation in one’s life this attracts positivity and increases self-achievement.
It employs a state of mind that continues to seek, find and execute ways to win, or find a desirable outcome, regardless of the circumstances.
It opposes negativity, defeatism and hopelessness.
“Our attitude toward life determines life’s attitude towards us.”
John N. Mitchell
“You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.”
